The focus wheel on a handful of vectors(including my own) I've heard personal reports on(friends I know and trust), it has lash in it. Almost like a spring needs preloaded before the focus is adjusted. The depth of field in the vectors is very good, so there's not a lot of focus adjustment going on anyways. The glass IQ is not zeiss, Leica pro, swaro El level. It's better than a lot, but not alpha. The system hasn't given me a target I couldn't range yet. Atop a Tripod, no problem ranging trees or ridges up to 4k yards. Cold weather performance, run cold weather rated Nitecore 18650 batteries, they're rechargeable and through testing, superior to cr123a.

@Mike D Texas @Runwilderness , have you cold soak tested the 3200.com?

I'm wanting to get a brf with a great laser and quick ballistics solution, but don't want a set that fails in the cold. I was thinking I might save for a swaro el range, but it sounds like that doesn't work in the cold worth a darn.

I have the Geovid Pros, but no, I’ve only had them for about a day now so I can’t speak to their performance in depth yet.

The most I have cold soaked it was on my recent elk hunt, but it wasn’t terribly cold then. 20s in the morning but up to 50s mid day.

No issues in those conditions.

I don’t want to mislead anyone into thinking the Leica gives a fast solution. It does still scroll through range/dial up/wind and there is a few seconds between each.

Based on what I’ve seen the Sig 10k is going to give the fastest because it shows all 3 values on the screen at the same time.

Yea I was thinking the 3200 was a newer model. I guess not. So I'd be more interested in the pro ab+ anyway.

From what I can find is that they're optically similar to the swaro range, but better than swaro for ranging and app

Glassing in foggy soup today. Could not make out antelope at 1,100-1,200 yards that Ryan found with Swaro EL Ranges. This is the first environment where there was a noticeable, immediate difference in ability to see something with the Vectors compared to top end glass. This lasted about 15 minutes, and then the light/fog was such that I could see just fine through them again.

My comment to Ryan was that I was looking through two fogs- one was inside the glass.

How do these compare to the Vortex Fury 5000 HD AB’s? I got a pair for $999 on sale at Scheels and have been happy so far. The only thing that looks better on the Vectronix is the display has more info rather than having to switch between the 2 views for range and ballistic info. But for a difference of $2k I’m thinking the Vortex are the much better value.

If you're feeling that way, don't look through the vectors. Big glass difference, way faster processor. Be happy with your on sale purchase.

Good to know. I figure I could get close to what I paid for the Vortex if I ever decide to upgrade.

I've run the Vector's at *12degrees and no issues with that temp. ranging performance was solid. fast and repeatable out to ~2200 yds. Laser alignment might be a tiny, TINY bit left but so slight that I couldn't say for sure. Tested while ranging power poles and a water tank at 600-1000yds. If I scanned left to right while ranging it seemed to pick up sooner just barely on the left edge of the reticle center X vs the right edge. definitely not .1 mil or anything enough to bother me but I'm hardly a discerning experienced glass user. I never had any issues just placing the reticle on target out to 2000yds and hitting what I was trying to. Having heard of this possible issue I spent a while trying to determine any alignment variance and have to really try hard to notice anything at 1000 yds. I'm calling it lined up as far as I'm concerned.
The reticle in the center of FOV doesn't bug me, SMR reticle it's unobtrusive.

Focus wheel doesn't have noticable "lash" or delay in the focus mechanism on my unit, but it doesn't feel buttery nice either and I didn't notice any difference in the cold. I find when focusing I tend to overshoot and then creep back into it but with some time on the glass I did start to recognize better when the focus was in as it would get. I guess you would say the focus experience could be a bit better. I wasn't impressed with the depth of field either but don't have experience to compare to except for some Vortex Vipers.

I was overall impressed with the optical experience though. low light performance is great the image appears slightly brighter to me than naked eye. I did some glassing under moonlight/starlight. Overall contrast and clarity did impress me.

Definitely can tell a dropoff optically from center to edge of view. overall viewing experience is good. I don't have any experience with real alpha glass but hopefully I can get together with a buddy and side by side with his NL pures and he's got the Vortex Fury too.

just my 2cents from a glass noob
