Vectronix Vector X 10x42mm Evaluation

I’ve only used a couple of the early Gen 2’s. While not as horrible as the Gen 1’s with the blue tint, the color/contrast/clarity was still not as good as the 4x Revics I’ve used, nor as good as these Vectors.

Any laser/read out/feedback time advantage of the sig? Or revic still at the forefront?

I have been using the Revics for competitions for the last several months. We just got our first order of Vector-X 10x42s in at MKM and I have taken them out a few times now. I have gotten the LRF to fail one time, but it was due to beam dispersion with another object in the foreground. I was also unable to replicate the failure.

I have noticed that the clarity of the class is near the same, but the color fidelity in the Vector-Xs are much better and the CA is improved over the Revics as well.

I initially thought that the DMR reticle was going to be too busy in the FOV, but after some practical usage, I see straight through it. Perhaps in low light the red will be to bright to ignore, but I have not noticed so. I spend many hours every week behind a set of binos on a tripod, and I am really enjoying the Vector-Xs so far.

We still have not received out stock of 12x42s and range enhancers, but I am really eager to take those out and play with them.

Nope. The Revics are extremely fast in showing ballistic data.

$1,695 deal at Cameraland this morning made up my mind on the Revic's. Excited to try them. Have been using Sig 6K for competitions and Swaro 12x50 with separate RF for hunting. Hoping these are convince me to sell both!

Whatever was/is causing this specific issue in that piece of ground is consist with the Vectors. Old series Leica Geovid and the Revic’s have zero issues side by side on the same spot. I did but change the lasing mode however, and that might have helped.

Thats what I am seeing as well, though not the difference in CA.

For pure range use on plates, it’s not a problem- what it was designed around. Glassing broken terrain and especially in lowlight- it is not proving to be ideal.

I find the glass to be mediocre in the Revics.

When elk hunting last week, our guide could easily spot antlers on bulls from 1 mile away and I struggled to tell some of them were bulls.

The ranging ability overall is comparable to the Revic-




However, that the laser alignment is not centered makes ranging through gaps and trees more difficult, and there are conditions that it doesn’t want to range.

I went with the Revic during the black Friday sale to replace my Swaro ELs and Revic RF. The price was too good to ignore. I'll wait until the Vector has been out in the market a bit longer before I commit.

The glass and tech in the Vectors is incredible, but I’m selling mine for a couple reasons:

1) Primarily for me, my IPD. Theres a LOT of info presented in the Vectors, and at minimum IPD which is where I pretty much had to use them, all of that info is pretty severely canted. So were the reticles of course.

2) While there is tons of illuminated information, one thing that isn’t illuminated is the aiming reticle. In low light and/or against dark backgrounds, the flood of red light makes the dark black reticle disappear. If you don’t have it right the first time you aren’t going to get an opportunity to redo it until the display cuts off.

I thought the glass compared favorably to my Zeiss SFL’s, no complaint there. The ranging speed seems adequate to me though very slightly slower than my Revic BLR10b’s. The app is one of the best I’ve ever used, very user friendly. The presentation of the information and all the stuff you can easily do in the binos with the D pad is amazing. For a competitive shooter these are the bees knees. If I could afford to keep them just for that I would. However I quickly found the Revic to be a better tool for hunting.

I’d also say the blue tint in the right barrel is more noticeable than on the Revics, though I didn’t find it to be bothersome or noticeable in the field. Going through the motions to set the diopters reveals it to you right off the bat though.

I also found myself needing to close my right eye and use it as a monocular in low light if I used it for a range. I wish you could clear the screen with a different button press.
