Vacmaster pump oil

How often should it be changed?
If the oil starts looking discolored at all, especially if it looks milky change it out. I also change it after any large processing job. Not changing oil is the biggest pump killer I’ve seen over the past 30 years with customers and vac pumps. Oil is cheap compared to a new pump.

my vac sealer is slightly bigger than the vp230 and i'm supposed to change the oil every 3k cycles or 25 hours.
any ISO 46 compliant compressor oil will work

If your oil is milky you're getting water in the system, which will happen if you're vac sealing warm or hot stuff. When you pull a vaccuum you actually lower the boiling point of water. So lets say you're vac seal foods are 100 degrees they will boil off at the maximum your unit will pull. so generally you should have your stuff at 90F max when you vac seal it
