looking to get one of these soon. whats the difference between the vp210 and vp215 other than weight and price?
anyone have any experience with either of these?

Yes, I and many have the VP215. It's a great machine. I believe the difference is the 215 is an oiled motor while the 210 isn't. See if you can find info along those lines.

A little off from your question but I really wish I had bought 4 mil bags instead of 3 mil. I've only had mine for for two months or so and I've already had two bags get holes in them and loose their seal.

The colonel is correct, oiled vs. a dry pump. Other than that the VP215 and VP210 are close to the same. The 215 has a slightly shorter cycle time. The oiled motor will run longer without over-heating if you have a giant pile of meat to package.

One thing to keep in mind. You'll need dedicated space. The VP215 is heavy and it's not something that I want to move in and out of a cabinet. It can be done, I just don't like doing it. You also need overhead space as the lid literally pops open when the unit completes the cycle. If you run it under an overhead cabinet, you'll have problems. I have mine on a rolling cabinet.

For what I do, it was worth the investment.

I have a 215. So glad I spent the money on it! It's Amazing.
I have th3 mil bags and punctured a bag thawing in water yesterday. That's the first 3 mil I've punctured in a year.

I've been on the lookout for a VP215 myself and have a lead on a couple. I'll end up getting one of them and if anyone's interested in the other, shoot me a PM and I'll give you details.
That said, I don't know what a good used price is on one. The two I've got my eye on can be picked up for around $500. Fair price?

This may be a dumb question, but are you sure they are holes. I get a leaker once in a while if I don't bump the sealing time to 6 or 7 seconds. I do get a fair number of holes, but I'm always doing odd shaped sharp stuff like popcorn, dried pasta, etc... I can't think of having a hole in a bag of meat.

Yeah I filled the sink with water and submerged the packs to see where they leaked. It was clear it was from handling.
