Ship through FEDEX or UPS?

Here in rural AK USPS is our go-to for everything that will fit. It’s been business as usual. They must know how heavily we rely on them.

I’ve had similar problems with USPS lately, and FEDEX too. The FEDEX tracking will start the day as “out for delivery”, then later in the day change to “arriving late”, then around 18:00 change to expected delivery tomorrow. I had that happen with a FEDEX package five days in a row. The sixth day it was “out for delivery”, now the next Monday, I called FEDEX to complain. Two hours later, the package was delivered...
UPS has continued to delivery packages to me at lightning speed.

yes, pulling sorting machines over the past few weeks was a poor idea. I believe congress is forcing it back and no other changes until after the election.

USPS has always been a better service and value for anything I've ever had to ship. Fedex and Ups routinely ship things father away and have to circle back to me because of their hubs causing longer ship times. Their tracking is routinely off and fees are much higher. The struggles that USPS has had recently didn't just happen in a vacuum and they sure as shit didn't do it to themselves. I for one am more then happy to pay for this gov service then many other things the federal govt chooses to fund. Not to mention the thousands of good jobs it provides for our neighbors and fellow citizens.

Well, I just created a Fedex account to try this out and see if I get better results. For as much as I ship, if it can be more reliable until things normalize, I'll be happy to potentially pay a little more

A scope I sent from WA to MI took 14 days to get there.....sent 3 Day Priority Mail. Kept getting the message "package in transit arriving late". On day 12 I filed a missing package report online and viola! The scope arrived two days later. The response I received from the report filing was something along the lines of "yup we have it, yup it's late", and no ETA. Funny enough, they sent me an online survey asking how their customer service was.

I'm going to switch to UPS for the time being.

I ship a ton of stuff usps priority and first class and have had very few issues, best part is when i compare prices they are usually half that of Fedex and even less then half of ups. I can insure the package for full value and still save a bundle vs other shipping companies. Hopefully i am not jinxing myself lmao!!

Had a swaro atx95 shipped on the 6th was supposed to arrive on the 12th . Still showing arriving late but hasn’t left Denver terminal since the 12th an everyday status stays the same. Going to file a claim tmrw package thankfully was insured .
