That looks like UPS tracking, not USPS
Good catch, must've been a typo in their email cause its showing out for delivery when i enter that tracking number into ups lol. Note that their email says "usps"

For the guys that ordered from fayettechill, is this what you also see when you click on the tracking number they provided you? Been 8 days since i got the shipment notification, kinda odd
Yep. I just talked with a gal there. Their systems jacked and attached the wrong (USPS) carrier with a UPS tracking number. Mine tracking info, that I received 8 days ago, shows (lacking detail) on UPS and is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Has anyone tried either the Boundary or Ironwood jacket by Stormy Kromer? I'm looking for a "run around town" type of winter jacket. Something soft and warm, not a down jacket or anything with an athletic feel/ look. Also pondering one of the Asbell wool zip up jackets. And obviously made in the USA. Thanks...

Got my fayettechill hoodies. They are surprisingly warm! The green looks darker to me than the site pics for sure, more of a brown to my eyes. They're also a tad roomier than expected, all good tho they are nice pieces

Not really hunting gear, but made in the USA and good stuff.

Roundhouse: overalls, jeans
Buddy's: jeans
Costco and Sam's sells made in the USA wool socks
Thorogood: work boots (quite comfortable)
Thorogood does outsource some boots but they still produce some great work boots made in the USA

Serious question: are any of the American made options actually superior? The price of foreign made hunting clothing is already absurdly high. Is there any benefit to the end user to buy a forloh piece over a sitka piece (unless you love their awful camo)? Or even comparing Sitka to Sitka Arrowhead, or Arc’teryx to their Leaf line, etc.

I’ve spent a lot of money on small American made goods in my life, and some larger things like footwear, workwear and packs. For the most part, I’ve found no higher quality in my American made goods. Why is this? Are there real options actually worth spending 2-3x?
generally speaking I find the opposite to be true....American made products are generally superior

That’s a tough question and it depends on the product/company. Some of the Filson stuff I bought more than twenty years ago is still like new. On the other hand, I’ve had good reason to be disappointed in every pair of Russell Moccasin boots I have owned. Sometimes the idea of a thing is way better than the reality of it.
I have been well pleased with the two pair of Russell shoes that I own.

I’m bummed my fleece didn’t show up before leaving for our beach trip but I am really enjoying my forloh soft shell. This is the first “real” test with it. The weather is 40, 12-18mph winds with rain and mist. Playing on the beach with the dog and kids I’m staying warm with just a normal everyday hoodie underneath. It’s cutting the wind great and I am staying 100%dry at the moment. Tomorrow’s weather looks like more significant rain that I plan to be out in for awhile. The only negative I have, right now, is the sleeve cuff Velcro. It needs to be a longer piece on the cuff so I can pull it a little tighter and not have the tag end flapping all over. I will be having more of it sewn on and solve this at some point I hope. So far, this is performing way better than my softshells in the past by actually blocking wind and being waterproof though time will tell if that thought continues.

Agree with the sleeve cuff, interested to see how you alter that. I really like that jackets performance so far as well tho

And an end of day update. I’m flat out impressed with the coat. The wind picked up to 15-25 with flat out rain, driving rain at times. Walked down a mile long trail to the beach through thick ferns and these short fat Christmas trees and waste tall grass. Threw the dummy on the beach for the dog for an hour and played with the kids. Was out in the weather for just shy of 2 hours, pulled coat off and inspected my cotton hoodie underneath and not a speck of moisture anywhere. Inspected seams and inner liner of coat and no moisture discoloration anywhere. I’m impressed for a coat that is not a rain coat. I will be buying a solid color one and also one for the wife.
