This is what I came up with. Used half inch pressure treated plywood. I tried an outdoor carpet to help slide but that didn’t work at all. I then got these plastic pallet slip sheets at work. The are perfect. The smooth side sticks to the bedliner and the honey comb slide is slippery.
The only spot it sticks a bit is when the board is on the plastic part of the tailgate. On the right side, I’m testing having a slip sheet attached to the board so it has a friction reducer over the tailgate too as well as raised handles to help push a loaded board back in easier. If that works, I will make it a bit more permanent with some construction adhesive.
I’ve been using the left side with my Exo and 90# of concrete and gear, and it has worked great for that.
I so far have been happy with not having any lips around the side, and anything prone to sliding goes on old cut up pieces of yoga mat.
