Unknown Suppressors The Midge and The Gnat

How is that PSA 5.7?

Not sure I really want to have to buy 5.7 ammo... bbbbuuutttt
Its great. the trigger was kinda rough at first but has broken in nicely. I actually like it considerably more than my buddy's fn. Ammo is much cheaper than it used to be too. Its about in line or slightly less than the cheapest 556. And w the can its really fun and easy to shoot accurately.

Gnat on a T1X. Ready to go this weekend.

My 5.7 is the only hand gun I can shoot worth a damn.

We need the DB testing results from being used on a 223…

They’re comfortably under 140 dB (A) at ear. The one Gnat that I metered two weeks ago in a 21” 223 was low enough that I don’t feel comfortable saying it, but mid 130’s dB (A) is safe.

Agree db numbers would be nice. I dont have a meter but I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the midge is on my 223 tikka. I feel comfortable shooting it without ear pro. On my 16” its questionable.

Might wanna look two posts above the one I’m quoting…

Has anybody used either the Gnat or Midge on a gas gun? Really interested in picking a couple up to be able to have dedicated cans for each of my rifles.

For reference, I’m not looking to mag dump but to have something on the AR to take out a coyote would be nice at these price points.

I'd imagine it'd be pretty gassy.
Not sure what the barrel length restrictions are for these and 223.
Probably be loud as heck. I know my 12.5 with a full size Griffin Recce is barely hearing safe.

Not saying what cartridge this is but was fine for a handful of rounds and then it started getting hot. They’re rated for 16in 223 bolt guns though because gas gun rate of fire gets them hot pretty fast. We were pretty surprised they weren’t louder though!

From what Form said, sub 140 db on a bolt 223?

Any steer on which of the two you would recommend for a 16” 22LR bolt rifle?

And any chance these will be available at Capitol armory in the near future? Thanks!

Midge is a hair quieter.

Just get your local shop to order 1 for you or they can place a bigger order if they want better margins.

CA will not carry the 22 cans. Just talked to their buyer last week. Isn’t enough profit since they have to pay multiple ppl to do the transaction with how their program works. I get it!

We fired 100 rds as fast as we could feed them through a 16in 223. Idk where the limit is with bigger cartridges because it’s not rated for that and hasn’t been fully tested. I just decided to do limited testing for fun on a cartridge in the middle of 223 and 22 creed and didn’t have any failures but again, I don’t recommend that because they have not been fully tested for anything bigger than 223 bolt action. Disclaimer- don’t do this. Lol
