Unknown Suppressors The Midge and The Gnat

That’s crazy! If you decide you really want anything US sells, shoot me a pm and I’ll see what I can do to make it easier on ya. Thanks

I'll vouch for US here.

When I went to pay for my transfer, they charged me less than their normal rate and said it was because US had a deal worked out with them.

We are “Recommending” use on up to a 16in 223 bolt gun. It’s not going to be as quiet as a 1.5-1.8in can obviously but better than nothing. Obviously more optimal for a 22/17, etc
Is there any more info on testing done for the either .22 cans on a .223? I haven't been able to find any db ratings, videos of sound or reports of if they approach hearing safe levels on a .223 bolt gun. Db numbers would be very helpful. Thanks!

I told my local shop I’d buy one of each in the hopes they’d become a dealer. Waiting to see if they come through…

Anybody got one in hand yet? Ready to buy a 22 can and looking for real world feedback

I picked up a gnat this week, had intended to pick up a 22/45 or mini mamba to go with it
.
Crazy light and small and seemingly much “tougher” construction compared to my other .22LR can.

As expected it is not as quiet (on TX1 22LR) as an inch longer and heavier can that I have, but that was not my expectation.

Edited bc I’m dumb and put the wrong can. I have the Gnat

Have you tried it on a .223 yet? I just ordered a midge and am hoping that it is near hearing safe for a shot or two on a UL .223.

What’s the other longer/heavier can you have? I’m setting up a T1x right now I’m considering grabbing a Midge or Gnat, my only other .22 can I have is a Sparrow.

CGS hydra aluminum. It’s stupid quiet, but would better compare to the midge in size and I suspect sound.

The Gnat is perfectly hearing safe and again I knew it would be a compromise, but I wanted a shorter can for a pistol.

For the weight and ability to use on .223 are what got my buy in on the US cans.

Thanks! Yeah I was thinking the Midge 5.5” on a T1x and the Gnat 4.5” on a pistol possibly…

I would be curious to see what people think of the midge compared to a mask hd. The masks are the only rimfire cans I have because of availability at the time. Well that and I like them. I am not interested or needing to go smaller or lighter to sacrifice sound but if they are quieter I'd sure try one next time I need a rimfire can.

I got a midge the other day, about like most rimfire cans on a 22lr. I did shoot it on a 223 bolt gun with no problems. Not super quiet but definitely knocked the “crack” down if somebody was looking for an ultra lightweight option.
Not expecting quiet but do you think it is hearing safe on the .223?

Did I read this right, you can send your can back and have it cleaned for free???
Man I hate cleaning my Griffin. Great can but eff cleaning it

Picked up my midge on Friday shot it yesterday. Ive had a hard time getting any real db info on this can so it was a bit of a gamble but Im very pleased after shooting it. Performance on my .22 was about the same as other .22 cans nothing amazing, but my primary use for this is as a up .223 can. I dont have a reliable db meter but to my ear it was def hearing safe on my 20” tikka .223 and psa 5.7. Fully reliable on the 5.7 no booster too. It is borderline hearing safe on my 16” ulul .223 (no gas system) but just fine for a few shots hunting most likely. Very happy w the can for the size and weight. I see no reason to use a heavier can on a bolt 223 in a low fire volume hunting situation.

Were you shooting subsonic out of the 5.7?
