The tone thing is what you call the “gimmick”, right? Not having had a strong reaction to the tone of any of the cans I have heard at the range or fired myself, I can understand that perspective.

In the past two months, I have put nearly 400 rounds through those cans combined and still haven’t noticed a substantial difference from behind the gun wearing hearing protection.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, the is inline with what he just posted. +/-1dBA which seems like a reasonable tolerance.

My point is, if the STI is within a db of the ultra 7, then it's essentially the same. So then why not say the OG is functionally the same as the U7, which most people love and would never argue is loud?

I guess that I’m struggling to see the purpose of a silencer that is louder and heavier and really only buys me a bit more than an inch in length than other options out there.

My ti xc is 6.35 and actually a bit shorter now that it has the rearden end cap on it, not much shorter but still…and it’s much quieter and 8.5-8.6 ounces.

And yes, the tone, I have 4 different silencers and shoot with folks who also have several so while I don’t have as much exposure to silencers as some people do, I have shot quite a bit around ~ 15-20 different silencers and the tone thing is something I can’t pick up on.

TBAC has the ultra 7 at 129db at the shooters ear. Isn’t the OG like 133?

The conditions of the situation always matter so that a why many companies (including US) use other brands as a baseline. In the videos earlier today the TBAC was clocking in 131s and the OG and DDsti were 133s.

Interesting, I thought the sTi was supposed to be pretty quiet. Maybe I missed it but where is the reaper stacking up?
