Unknown suppressors OG testing

Apologies. How is maintaining the same rifle OAL length and being 7 dB quieter a gimmick?

Or compared to the DD STi and AB Raptor 8- it being 2+ inches shorter OAL, smaller diameter; and being quieter for the former, and the functionally the same dBA as the latter- a “gimmick”?
Look at what you are doing, you are showing the decimal reading for a silencer (fine) then taking away nearly half of it and acting like I should be surprised that it’s louder.

I know you think everybody is stupid but c’mon man. Do you really think that people don’t understand that more volume makes a whiter silencer (usually?). I called the OG a gimmick because it’s heavier and louder than its competition.

I don’t need a meter , I know what my ears say , and I know what my hunting buddies say when they hear the OG for the first time … and they’ve been beside me hunting with a raptor 4 for the last couple years …pardon the language

Numbers on testing equipment are painting a different picture than your ears.

I really do wonder if you got a defective can.

What are you talking about? What competition? What sub 5” long muzzle forward, 30cal can are you referring to?

OTB allows the same suppression with less added OAL, or more suppression with the same added OAL. How is that a “gimmick”?

I don’t
Well something is up, I will grant you in your video it sounds loud but it also sounds different than other videos of it folks have posted. Something is amiss or some sort of anomoly. Mind you I don't have an OG and wasn't in the market for one, I don't think its the quietest thing since sliced bread (and they didn't claim it) but just from an objective standpoint something isn't adding up.

There does seem to be some odd spacing between baffle 3&4 on mine , not sure if that’s by design

And again, just stop man, obviously cutting off part of the OG is going to make it louder. What was that even trying to prove?
Seems like you two are talking past each other. Yes more volume = more suppression. The OTB route = less overall length while doing it.

That comes with some weight and inefficiency cause the OTB helps but not as effective as baffles. It is effective for its purpose thus not by definition a gimmick.

Being you called it a gimmick he logically interpreted you were saying that reflex volume doesn't serve an purpose (THAT would actually be a gimmick if true). Were you really saying minimizing length wasn't important to you personally so for you it doesn't add value?

Yes that’s what I’m basically saying. Obviously the volume in the reflex is going to make a difference.

Why don’t you just go outside and shoot your raptor 8 and OG and see which one is louder , then compare to these “tests”

In the past two months, I have put nearly 400 rounds through those cans combined and still haven’t noticed a substantial difference from behind the gun wearing hearing protection.
