Unknown suppressors OG testing

I like wrench flats better. But use strap wrenches everyday at work. I would definitely put it over the can close to the threads where there’s more material. Filters do crush if they were put on to tight but oil filters have very thin single layer steel walls. In reality if you crushed a suppressor with a strap wrench then it was installed way to tight. You can also get a thin strip of rubber to put in between the suppressor and metal area of the wrench that will be against the strap putting pressure on the suppressor. Only time I’ve needed the wrench flats on my DT cans is if I was running them on Ar15 s because I would torque them slightly more for obvious reasons. I put a very small dab of Eezox on the beginning thread. It’s a very light oil that goes on wet but after it soaks in leaves a dry film so it doesn’t attract debris. May not need it but it can’t hurt when running Ti or Al threads
This type of plastic and rubber strap wrench grips better and is less damaging than the metal onesIMG_1931.jpeg

I have that style as well. Should be perfect this application, but if something is to tight they don’t always work.

Very similar, but everyone I have been with would take the Ultra Seven over the Scythe on sound.
So has your opinion changed on the sound between the two from this previous post?

I have both and would take the Scythe every time.

The ultra 7, OG, and AB Raptor are the few I have been considering if I end up getting another suppressor.

Haha. Once you hear the “TING”, you can’t unhear it.

How does the 3D printed titanium hold up to drops? 3D printing tends to more prone to cracking but titanium is very fatigue resistant so curious where the finished product lands

Damn you. I noticed that the Scythe had more of a crack to it but now i'm probably going to start hearing other things.

I've been hearing random "off" noises with the scythe since I put it on a 22-250. I lose focus and check to see if it the front 2/3 of it are still there.

No, I would pick the Scythe with a cap over the Ultra 7 if I were buying a suppressor. IF the Scythe didn't have QC issues. But side by side, everyone has picked the seven over the scythe with a standard break cap.

If you subscribe to the less cracky.. The OG and AB are the way.

I received one of the prototype suppressors to test out and give my feedback on. Figured I’d make a thread and post updates as I go.
I’ll primarily be using this on creedmoor based cartridges but will get some 6.5 prc through it as well.

My first impressions are very positive. I compared it to 3 other cans and plan on running it next to more as I go. It’s appreciably quieter than the other cans I had out. They were a JK Armament 155 configured to the same past the barrel length, PWS BDE556 in its longest configuration and a AB suppressors A10 30 cal.
I’ll try and get it next to a friends AB Raptor 8 because I think that would be a very good comparison. That can was my previous favorite for tone and suppression and I think this one will be as good in a shorter overall package.

I also really liked how the end cap didn’t have some silly design that made it impossible to get tape to seal over the hole.

So, does it go "Tssss" or "thUh" ?

To paint a better picture of how short the OG is on your barrel. L to R, DD Enticer LTI, AB 10 stack, gen 1 U7, Gunwerks 6ix+, AB 8 Stack, Scythe, U5, and the OG.
What place does the u5 have anymore. I also have one that I wish I wouldn’t have bought. Wondering if you have a situation where you can still find a use for it?

So these are only coming in 5/8x24? Or will there also be 1/2x20? I see it will fit up to .750 barrels, but isn’t the recommended minimum size for 5/8x24 thread .750? So anything smaller than .750 barrel diameter will have a smaller thread if I am thinking about that correctly
