3 pairs huh! Maybe you need to ditch the Mtn House and try some good quality meals or make your own and dehydtate. Pre funkin with glide seems like a few go with that, but I tried that before a trail run race and it felt like I sharted myself. Maybe I used too much. HAHAExoficcio, paper towels, diaper wipes, pre-game with lots of Glide. Paper towels are far more versatile than tp. Always 3 pair but don't usually use more than two. ALWAYS have a spare when eating freeze dried meals for days.
I agree! I used to wear smart wool brief's and those thing are so loose, it's terrible. These exoccifios are pretty nice. I picked up a pair of Saxx, with the "ball holder" and those felt good around the house, but for hunting they gave me major wedgies!+1 for daily wipes. I bring two pairs and treat one like a backup. It's easier to run one pair for longer depending on the weather -- did a Nevada hunt in August at 10K feet, lots of climbing and lots of sweating and really put one pair to the test for six days.
Here's a controversial opinion: I really don't like the hunting brands underwear, especially merino stuff. It just doesn't hold up and gets saggy. I've been running Nike compression tights/shorts or the sorta Speedo you'd wear doing an Ironman for the last few years. Been extremely happy going that way. Oh -- one caveat -- the Stone Glacier tights are an exception to this. They're fleece, for cold weather, they hold up for days, and they rule.
Another little thing that I'll probably regret sharing because they'll now just be sold out all of the time -- but Nike makes a compression combat tight that I used to wear playing football that is PERFECT for antelope hunting -- it has very low profile built in knee and hip pads -- and I've worn them for days at time crawling around after antelope.
I knew I was opening a can of worms! Someone had too though, this is serious business!!!!!I got a feeling this threads going to blow up!

100% merino boxer briefs......they'll last a week easy for archery elk hunting, but I also wear 100% merino base bottoms 24/7 up there as well. Never had any issues with rashes etc, with this setup. Synthetics on the other hand........forget it.
When my oldest daughter was born in 1999 the light bulb went on and I've been using baby wipes ever since on hunts and general camping trips, and sometimes even at home. So much better than TP. Before she was born, I didn't even know wipes existed.
Luckily I haven't had a blow out. Close though3 pairs huh! Maybe you need to ditch the Mtn House and try some good quality meals or make your own and dehydtate. No $h!t !...this is serious business!!!!!
Well, that's the goal...No $h!t !
I love my merino, but I haven’t found a athletic fit merino brief I like. I also haven’t looked, but maybe I should
On longer 10+ day hunts I will start with a pair of merino Saxx (nut control is huge at reducing any chafing) and bring 1 spare pair. Normally never used. All I bring beside TP is a small zip lock bag of Lady Anti Monkey Butt (the normal stuff was sold out at the time, plus it smells like Pez candy which is a bonus).
Good to know, I'll check those out. My wife is absolutely mortified by all this...ROFLSmartwool makes a standard 150 weight boxer brief and a sport 150. The sport 150 has more stretch and compression to it, so it may give you what you're looking for. Definitely tighter than the standard smartwool boxer briefs or any of the FL boxers I've worn.
I like to roll with wet wipes and a small container of Gold Bond powder, but Boudreaux's Butt Paste would certainly do the trick. Monkey butt is just diaper rash for adults, so the treatment strategy should be about the same.
