UnderArmour anti hunting?

I wish everybody was as fired up about the Land Transfer BS as they are about this stupidity.

I actually made that same comment on another forum. A lot of guys answers " that doesn't matter to me, I hunt leases"

.... Well alrighty then.

Talk about unity!

I think things like this are the problem with forums and why I've left most I've joined.

You get a bloke busting his nut in the field that takes an animal he's wrapped with or some poor bugger that really needs help asks a question and they might get a handful of replies at best.

Start an argument or a whine and the thread will have more pages than the former type has replies!

How many times can I stand up and shout AMEN!? Arguing and hurling insults is about half the reason people go to many forums. You can see it here in abundance at times...then the waters go calm. I think a lot of webmasters tolerate it because of the data: page visits, clicks, traffic....call it whatever. I have also been to forums where things are moderated to the point a guy can't step sideways once or the thread gets censored...even tossed. The best sites to me are the ones that know when to slap leather on the guys who are chronic problems. rant over

I have no problem with UA's decision and action. I own none of their hunting gear, but that has nothing to do with politics. I don't fit their target demographic. If I was on their board I would have voted to drop the Bowmar association and sponsorship. I would have simultaneously released a statement unequivocally supporting legal hunting while putting the negative focus squarely on the video which is...in truth...what this is all about.

This is the one mistake they made, IMHO. Not making this the statement instead of the one they made.

I agree. I still support UA, because they are the only mainstream company that openly sponsors and supports hunters. I don't own any of their hunting clothing, but I do own some of their workout clothes and hoodys.

I also don't have a problem with the Bowmars, but they did post a controversial video that portrayed hunters in a negative light. I believe it was a mistake that they regret, and the consequences are costly.

Plus the consequences go beyond the Bowmar couple.

Yes, it affects all hunters. We all need to be more careful with what we put on the Internet.

not to sound like an @ss, but you have a mount as your icon. you think anti hunters/peta members/liberals/whomever will give you a break over that? its like boiling a frog, you dont throw him in boiling water, you slowly turn up the heat.

Well then that's a pretty bad analogy. And ironic considering it is and example of group think gone insane and is being used to argue that anytime the word "hunter" is used we should all engage in group think??

I think a better analogy would be - I might despise what you have to say but will defend to my death your right to say it. We might not agree with the Bowmars way of doing things but because it is legal and their right to do it, we should be looking at the UA statement as an attack on all hunters not just the Bowmars. Especially in light of the fact that they were promoting his spear hunting until they weren't.

no group think gone insane. he was stating that people need to be leery of what they put on the internet. he has a picture of a mount as his avatar. i saw that as ironic and i dont believe any 'anti' will find that any different than a person legally hunting, breaking no laws, but "celebrating" like an ass. i'll remove the quote...

i agree with this, thanks for explaining it better than i could

That still doesn't make any sense?

You'd defend to the death the Bowmars rights but not UA's rights?

Never mind. I'm not trying to be argumentative. You have every right to your opinion and I can and do respect that.

I just try my best to avoid judging by the group, positively or negatively, as I believe it to be dangerous and intellectually lazy. And a pretty big root cause of many, if not all, of the problems we have today in America.
