Are folks using OnX and Strava to track their miles? Or if I just use OnX can I just manually copy that data into Strava as that is how it appears?

Ill be using Strava to track my miles. I 'feel' thats how Exo wants it done. I might be completely wrong. Are you on the discord server? I am not. I pretty much despise apps and downloading Strava was like pulling teeth for me. I watched the video on how to submit the miles and didn’t see the advantage to using Strava as 99% or more of us use OnX already and could have just as easily snapped screenshots of OnX tracks. I presumed Strava was going to have the ability to submit through the app but it’s just going to be screenshots.I’ll be using Strava to track my miles. I 'feel' thats how Exo wants it done. Same thing happened to me. It doesn't like operating out of cell service from what I've experienced. My hike did upload once I was back in service, but I really dislike Strava. An alternative option would to screenshot every hike regardless of service,Edit/Update: I manually entered the hike into Strava. After doing so I saw there was a new alert notification so when I clicked on it, it then showed the actual hike, but when I clicked on You where it should show it they weren’t showing. I closed the app and restarted it and then there were two duplicate hikes in there. I then deleted the manually entered hike. Maybe it has to be connected to WiFi or it’s just super slow/glitchy. I guess I’ll take the .15 more miles Strava gave me over OnX but now I can’t wait to complete this challenge just so I can delete this app lol.
Went out today to an area that did not have cell service. Used both OnX and Strava to track simultaneously. When I got done and clicked “finish” in Strava it gave a message “an error occurred.” Couldn’t view anything in the Strava app without cell service. When I got back to service I thought maybe it would update but nope, nothing saved.
Didn’t have my phone in airplane mode like I normally do, not sure if that would have helped.

Track it on a gps watch if you have one then have that send to strava. Ive found that much more reliable than strava direct.Same thing happened to me. I’m glad I’m not the only one with this frustration. I was beginning to feel like an old crumudgeon.Me and the wife are in on goat. I’m not sure why they chose Strava over OnX. I couldn’t even get Strava to load up without cell service OnX will. This will limit where we can hike. We don’t have cell service at the house half the time.
I agree 100%. They also offering OnX as a free trial during this challenge so why not use.I’m glad I’m not the only one with this frustration. I was beginning to feel like an old crumudgeon.
I wouldn’t feel limited to do the activities in cell service, as others have mentioned above you should be able to export the track from OnX or Garmin etc. (although I haven’t actually done this yet) OR worst case scenario I now know you can manually enter the info in. It did work out of cell service for me but just took a LONG time to show up in Strava and definitely appeared to not save at the end of the hike but during the hike it showed my progress very similar to OnX as I shared in that screenshot above.
I don’t want to come off as a Karen but this seems to be another reason I would have thought they would choose OnX as to my knowledge there is no way to counterfeit a track in OnX but I’m pretty sure a dishonest person could just manually enter all their miles into Strava and get credit for this challenge.
