Under spined but flying great??

Question for you Mathews V3 shooters: I though I was borderline under spined with my current set up: 30.5 DL, 70 pound limbs maxed, Easton Axis 5mm Match Grade 300 spine at 29” carbon to carbon, standard inserts, 125 grain heads. Was testing broadheads today and found that 150 grain Day Six heads flew the best - surely that would be way too weak, but the V3 loved it! Who else is shooting what should be a weak spine and having good results? Here is what the software shows for that combo:

Those calculators are a baseline. If it tunes, it tunes. I use close to the same set up as yours (29" .300, 150 total up front) but a few lbs lighter draw weight. I achieved excellent tune and flight with broadheads.

These calculators now seem to recommend rebar for any bow over 65lbs!

Accurate is accurate, good flight is good flight!

Don't worry about it. Worry about the results. I had a 28" arrow that was overspi ed for the weight. Bought new arrows and cut a few to 27" on accident. Now it says way overspined.... but they shoot as good or better than my 28" so I don't care.

Spine, Meh. In over 30 years of archery I have yet to have a problem related to arrow spine. The most over blamed "problem" in archery.

Forget the calculators and internet experts. Shoot them. If they tune and shoot your are good.

I agree. I used to use calculators as well, but found once I started tuning my fixed blade broadheads that my "optimal spine" was indeed 300 and not 350 as the calculator suggested.

Here’s what a 150 grain Day Six BH and 125 grain FP (I don’t have 150s) look like at 20 yards. What next, other than step back to 30,40, 50, etc?

Are they flying good with fixed blade broadheads? And grouping together with field points? That will tell you what you need to know. Anything will fly ok with just field tips.

Yes. First shot with BH was dead nuts. Shot two more arrows - one BH, one FP and they hit in dang near the same hole. That’s what the picture is showing.
