I’m sure most of us continue to experience occasional or frequent frustrations of “out of stock”, “on backorder”, “not available”, “will ship in X months”, etc in trying to source and order build parts, ammo & shooting supplies, and reloading supplies.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed some great customer service and good news this week and wanted to give a virtual high-five to what I now believe is a very good company to deal with based on my first experience with them. I ordered a custom stock from McMillan back in January. I was told 4-6 months which I accepted without question because waiting on stuff seems to be the norm these days. Communication from McMillan was excellent, ordering was easy, and I received the stock yesterday after only 8 weeks. Also, upon first inspection the work quality is very nice. Finally some good news, and finally an experience from a company that exceeded expectations.

Now that is refreshing! Post up some pictures when you get the rifle bedded.
That’ll probably be awhile. Doing my first build, ….. and of course 2-3 months into waiting on some of the other components with unknown expected delivery timeline.

My favorable experience with McMillan includes several phone calls with multiple questions and at least one revision to the quote I requested. Not only did they answer the phone almost immediately, I spoke to the same person all but once. They were patient, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They also responded promptly to communications requiring an email reply, and all around great customer service. Their quote and comprehensive work order covered every detail for every specification. I’m confident that the stock should match & fit the other build components with little to no tweaks.

That is way better than dealing with Manners. I have several stocks from Manners and every time the wait time is terrible and the customer service it pathetic. Glad to hear some companies are still doing it right!

Great to hear! In what should be common, it is the excellent customer service that is the rare exception. I too had great service from McMillan on my last stock.
