UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

I love my Raptor 8 with 5” reflex. It balances so well.

Of note rifle on the left has an 18” barrel with banish 30 gold. On right has 20” barrel with raptor 8 and reflex. You can see how much more gas space you get with raptor, and both guns about the same length

I like that. What’s the weight of the raptor 8 with 5” reflex? I see weights listed for the raptor cans, but not the reflex attachments.

So we already have

Rokstock
Rokrings (UM tikka)
Rokrifle (Marshall)

Soon to have

Rokcan
Rokscope
Rokaction (UM action)
Rokpak (new backpack)
Rokknob (bolt knob)

Am I missing any?

Roktent?

I believe I read somewhere they like the argali 8p tent so they dont need to make a roktent at this time.

I enjoy my raptor 8 with a reflex, but I can’t say that it balances well. Weight of a reflex is definitely preferable to weight past the barrel, but weight is weight. I don’t hunt with the reflex, the can with a flush mount cuts enough noise for me.

heavy. My 8 with a 4” bull barrel reflex is 15 ounces.

Knowing what I know now, I would have bought three AB 8s instead of all the BS cans I have now.

Like Form has stated many times, the UM can is purpose-built and will not be for everyone, BUT it's gonna be sick on my shorty 6CM.
I'm wishing I had bought another AB 8 rather than a Scythe.

UM already makes an outstanding bolt handle/knob for Tikkas.

You could add the UM Tikka DBM and mag. I like Rokbottom.

I'm wishing I had bought another AB 8 rather than a Scythe.

I've got a scythe and have been thinking about what my 2nd wcan will be. It balances incredibly well on my 16" 223 RSS with factory lite barrel, stock, and swfa 3-9. I can't imagine it feeling any better.

The 2nd can will go on my 243 d18 w rs1.2... Probably get it cut back to 18".

I've been considering going after the UM suppressor when released, but really only for balance. I've shot my scythe enough to know I don't care much about the tone. Granted, I haven't shot other suppressors, but I'm definitely satisfied with the scythe suppression and sound.

That being said, I'm not sure what I would gain with the UM in terms of balance over another scythe or something of similar size and weight.

As @Ferrulewax said, weight is weight. A 10oz can that is otb will feel better than a 10oz 7" end of barrel can, but if my can is 8oz and 6.5"...... Is it really going to make that much difference in the balance? I would think that most of the weight in the UM would be in the front half where the baffles are, so I don't think it's going to be 4oz in front and 4oz over the barrel.

When looking at a scythe or similar can on an 18" barrel in terms of balance, it doesn't seem like I would be gaining anything. Tone though, that's a different matter.

Do you have yours on a shortish barrel? How does the balance compare between scythe and raptor 8?

Am I the only that doesn’t give af about the db level ? Looking for the lightest shortest suppressor possible. As long as it’s quieter than a rifle with no muzzle device I’m in. I’m still running brakes because I don’t want a broom stick on my rifle and they’re ugly AF. I’m always wearing double ear pro when I’m target shooting. And honestly it’s so rare I don’t have ear pro in when I’m shooting while hunting.

Lol so you buy a suppressor that doesn’t suppress. Genius hack.
No, I buy a suppressor that is quieter than a braked or non braked rifle and reduces recoil. Recoil reduction is my primary goal, along with many others. If it’s 150 db vs 130 db I don’t care. I’ve hunted with a brake for 15 years and have ear pro on my neck at all times and they will go in regardless of braked, unbraked, or suppressed. If you or anyone doesn’t understand that you’re unaware and ignorant.

Totally understand the premise of prioritizing sound/length over db but at some point it becomes hard to justify shortening a barrel or having a big hollow metal tube at the end of a rifle at all if it doesn't significantly reduce noise or recoil.

Edit to add: small volume cans without a brake on the end are going to do very little for recoil mitigation as well. Small can with brake on end that keeps noise below bare muzzle but reduces a lot of recoil - that makes more sense to me than say an ultra5.

Roksok for your Rokcan. Tape is so 2024.

Not to be confused with the Roksox. A high performance mid heavyweight crew sock that actually makes your boots seem lighter.

Roknok LR. The ultimate variable magnification rangefinding binoculars.

RokTok. The pinnacle of social media apps.
All the good units can be found here.

Roklok. You think the purple LocTite is good?? You don’t even know.

RokMonoc. Half as good as the Roknok, but still better than anything else.

Rokwok. No better way to cook those loins.

Put a Folgers can on the end and save yourself some money then.

Recoil reduction is my primary goal, along with many others.
Good suppressors reduce recoil well. But if you just want recoil reduction, shoot a smaller caliber. Or just stick with a brake since you make the following argument:

I’ve hunted with a brake for 15 years and have ear pro on my neck at all times and they will go in regardless of braked, unbraked, or suppressed.
If you bought a good suppressor you wouldn’t have to do that.

If you or anyone doesn’t understand that you’re unaware and ignorant.
Ah, yes, the “if you disagree you’re dumb” argument. Classic.

RokJok. Lights fading fast and you need to make a 200 yard sprint to get into position.
Keep them danglers secure.
