Why is being labelled as a hype-man/marketer a negative to you?

Again... Im not saying its bad, or wrong... But If you dont think he has garnered a lot of attention (hype) for these new UM products im not sure what else to tell you.

Hype and sharing factual information about how something performs are not the same thing. When someone is called a hype-man or influencer, what is the intent generally? I can’t recall many examples of it being used to suggest positive attributes.

Sharing an opinion and the information that formed that opinion is not hype. Did you also read the numerous posts where he brings up cans with those attributes from other manufacturers?

I'm not a hype guy, but a facts guy. The Oxi guy was Billy Mays, he died in 2009.

I will throw my two cents in. I joined RS as a skeptic after years of non-membership reading. I’m still not a convert to small caliber TMK’s for killing. I will however say that things that I have had questions about or had inventive thoughts about; when I searched on google, I found a dude that seemed to be asking similar questions and actually testing and providing unbiased answers/ evaluations. It annoys me how “form cultish” rokslide is, but I believe the guy @Formidilosus actually cares about shit that works and nothing more.

I am interested in the unknown suppressors can, but really wonder if I would be better off with an AB8 with 4-5” reflex for culling hunts. I’m interested in the rokscope but am not speculative or hopeful (I.e. I wouldn’t do a pre-sale) until I see official specs. I think Jake seems like a great caring business person and @Formidilosus seems genuine. I’m not going to cult worship them but I will thank them for bringing otherwise unavailable designs to the market

Reading, for my uses, it is sounding like an AB Raptor 8 hits what I want more.

The UM can looks really interesting, and once it is released I will keep an eye on it and see.

The Raptors are great cans. Tough to go wrong if they fit your needs.
