If you want to step up your scope testing game, it sounds like my 20 year old niece with two left feet and the ability to break everything in a ten foot radius will be here in the spring to hunt bears with me....
If it survives her, it should survive anything.

Were you hoping for a slight variation of the same exact bag everyone else makes?
More like a slight variation of the bags they already make, just without the zippered side pockets. Even reverting back to the K3 style side pockets would have been preferable for me. I don't prefer a zippered compartment for a sleeping bag. Not every product release is going to fit every person's needs/wants...I'm okay with that.

Is there any information that can be shared on likely timeline for release of the suppressor this year, ballpark price range, and how many models will be available this year?

And will they only be available directly through UM, or will they be available through some vendors that make the application and delivery process easier?

Yes sir, I understand. This bag design is not trying to please everyone. It’s built for purpose.
I will say, that even people that hate the idea (@Dioni A ), after seeing how and why we load and use the bags the way we do- like it, and want one. Even @Ryan Avery wasn't super keen on the compartment, but after seeing it, I believe he likes it as it allows you to access the man bag without undoing a single buckle.

They’ll be available soon after the design and testing is complete. We could be done in April, or it may take longer. I believe they will be sub $1,000. One hunting model this year, with two variations of it I believe.

No clue on that.

On the suppressor:

This one is not designed for large magnums. It will be tested on a 20” barrel 300 Rum for durability and safety, and it is a 30cal can- but it is being optimized for medium cartridges. It may end up being great on magnums, but that is not the goal. The goal is the shortest added OAL for hunting rifles and cartridges that the vast majority shoot.

I'm definitely interested to see what it looks like once you're done testing and have a production ready version. It would be great to have a video showing how you guys pack your bag and the process you go through when you sit down and glass.

We will do that video. We may do one this week at the winter S2H class.

This is why I macguyvered a K3 onto my ARC...Looking forward to playing with all the new toys.

Jake, I'd look into a systemic way to audit whether the processes you've put in place are being consistently followed. Both projects I've sent UM have required the typical hand-holding and check-ins that I'm used to from other gunsmiths because things get stuck transitioning stages (bedding to paint, paint to finishing, etc.) or parts get misplaced. I know that shops like yours and LRI are trying to move past this legacy gunsmith model with things like trackers (LRI) and the red carpet card (UM). In both cases, my personal experience is that projects are still consistently getting lost in the shuffle, which is why customers are needing to contact the owners (you, Chad) to unstick things in the first place. Not a complaint, and all the work (from both shops) has been good. But if you're trying to subvert this old-school gunsmith shop paradigm, the auditing is just as important as the intention.

All love,
-J

I just have a hard time believing animals are reacting differently to different suppressor "tones". All bullets will have a "crack" if they are supersonic. Does this negate a better tone from 350 yards away?
