Ok, please go back and edit your responses in the poll if you want multiples or both types. I think I have it covered with the new options up to 3 barrels of both types

I'm betting that it'll take a full 25 for an order, but I think you could easily have a Smith ream one for you out of the wylde barrel
The problem with that is an AI should ideally be set back to a tight headspace, which gets into pulling the barrel extension, etc.

6x45, 1/8 twist barrel, threaded 1/2x28 is fine with the caveat the people understand to pay attention to the muzzle device they choose. Stainless is preferred. Barrel contour as light as possible, 16” finished length. Seems like the price is a little up in the air, planning on $100 a piece shipped? I’m in for two at that price, maybe a third.

Yeah, that makes several reasons to avoid it when you can load to those speeds easily with shell shock cases. They're actually pretty cheap per case, but it's a large quantity.

Can you buy those as empty cases for reloading.

Can you buy those as empty cases for reloading? I'd be interested in testing those in 223 and 300 BO. Their BO loads are not much if any faster than my handloads, but I could probably up my loads with them.

I'll quit my derailing now!! 😅

I was wrong, you can get 250 for not too much of an investment

As a lot of us might already have a 16 inch shaw portless barrel of similar specs and dimension, i'd be interested in a 223wylde and 6x45 in shorter lengths: 8, 10, 12 inch if possible (prefer 10 or 12). With the same profile as the BCA barrel, with a 1:7 twist.

Also, a muzzle flared out with 5/8x24 threads so we don't have to add the extra weight of the 5/8/24 adapter to run a can.

I think for the sake of getting 25 (enough for an order) we'll have to stick with the typical AR 16" barrel specs. I think we'll be lucky to get that many as is.
-16", 1/2x28 threads, wylde chamber, and I'm guessing a 1:7 twist will work for everyone's bullets. Hopefully stainless is available!

-I don't know the standard specs for the 6x45, but it'll be basically the same deal. 25ish people will have to agree on barrel threads (size) and twist

I will ask about all the variations. And, length is one of them.

Personally, I want a 10 or 12” for my SBR lower. 5/8 x 24 makes a lot of sense.

Post in your “custom” preferences too.

I will ask about pricing for the “custom” requests. I can order one offs, just not sure about the pricing yet. And, not sure how I would charge for it.

I am trying to do the group buy as inexpensive as possible. The customer one off changes the time I have involved.

I know the custom barrel won’t be the bottom dollar I am trying to do for the group buy.

For me, if I personally can buy a barrel and have no need to cut/threads it’s worth a little more for me. I’m not against the BCA with tapping the gas port or backwards block, but it is nice to have a clean option.

So, feel free to ask for your “perfect” barrel options. It won’t hurt for me to ask.

Which begs the question, can they make the location pin east to remove( not drilled into the barrel), and only torqued to 50-75ftlbs?

Is so, improving any chamber and setting back barrel accordingly is an easy job.

5/8-24 thread on 6x45 preferable but not a dealbreaker if 1/2”.

16” length.

1/8 twist preferred, 1/7.5 or 1/7 fine.

Tenon Threaded chambered profiled, muzzle thread cut, with no barrel extension installed and shipped loose would be good for anyone wanting to AI the barrel. Shouldn’t cost more or change programming. Just one less labor intensive step.
