Ultrasonic pest repellent

Do they work? Seems like there has been an explosion of mice around the house. I've gone nuclear and i'm throwing rat bait laced with peanut butter into the open space in my storage areas, but wanna protect the vehicles from getting the wires chewed up. I've seen them but never put much stock in them cuz I don't know much about them

I bought some to try to help with an invasion of spring tail bugs coming up out of the septic last year. It was not a controlled study but the bugs went away after 3-4 weeks so whether the ultrasonic device was the cause or they just went away ill never know but I felt the $25 spent on them was money well spent and they are still plugged in for this next year. We also bait heavily for mice around the outside of the house and do nothing under the house. I was thawing a frozen line under the house this winter and looked for mice while under there and found none so maybe they are helping control that as well.

I'm fairly certain that they're aimed at rodents and not insects but double win maybe?
