Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

Shout out to Farrowtech for unexpectedly good customer service. I ordered their buttstock and while they don't list a specific weight on their website they do state that it's 4oz including an A2 buffer tube. My part came in at 1.73 oz so I emailed asking what buffer tube they used to get the 4oz measurement since the couple I weighed were around 3.3oz giving a total weight of 5oz. Not a huge deal at all but more out of curiosity.

A package arrived today with not just one, but TWO redesigned buttstocks that weigh1.08 oz. each. Awesome! Now I'll have to make a bolt-action ULUL so the stock doesn't go to waste

I'm not sure what the opposite of a shout out is, but not particularly pleased with TN Arms. I ordered two lowers at the end of August and radio silence besides a generic order confirmation email. Turns out they shipped the lowers pretty quickly but never sent me any order fulfilment or shipping notifications, nor included any of my info in the package to the FFL so they had no idea who the order belonged to. My lowers almost got sent back but luckily I checked on them in time.

I can't seem to find it on Farrowtech website.

Well she got fat. Ended at 6#13 oz. She's Hella long too! (14.5 semi collapsed for reference). Balance point is nice and forward and perfect for an arca mount.

5# 9 oz bare. The deal on the trybe handguard and bcm blem added some weight (versus no FA). And I think it was worth the ounce for the longer handgaurd.

Still pretty slim for a suppressed 20" setup. Feels good. Points good. Dropped the prism to the lowest position, feels perfect there with the bare rifle tube...and as im probably going to piggieback a red dot with the hero mod mount that'll be better.

I may be wrong. But this is probably about as light as you can get a 20" gasser while sticking with forged recievers.

...and ignore the lack of dust cover... that little c clip shot off into nowhere 😅. I'll slap on a magpul.

Got her dialed in more or less.

It seems to shoot really well (cough, 3 round groups, I failed to reject the hypothesis that she's accurate 😏)

Shot a little tighter with the BH 77 tmk. But that criterion didn't hate anything I fed it. Also seemed to tighten up with the suppressor. The dark target was low light so I think i had some vertical discrepancies due to my aiming. The 55 gr pmc and 77 gr aac tmks bled together, not sure what was what there.

Played with hitting a 16" plate at 400. Just trying to get 2 on it as fast as possible.

I think im going to ditch the can while im scouting for deer, get it under 6#, as an option if a bear pops up.

I also added the heromod piggieback mount. Going to run a 3 gun with it saturday.
