Thanks! Good timing! I am finally building an actual ULUL after playing with my “gassless AR”.

I just bought the BGC and an aluminum barrel nut from KAK.

Also have on order a couple TA lowers and a New Frontier UL LPK.

I already have a few other pieces. Going to use blem BCA side charging upper and an aluminum bolt knob. I think I can re-use an A2 buffer tube I have already cut short for another project.

I will use a barrel I already have so I can wait as I get this group buy for barrels going. I may break down and find a pencil barrel or just buy a 12” and flute/dimple it. After all, I have a second lower coming!

I will pick up carbon tubes for the forend and butt when I get the nut in. Other than the tubes and fashioning a butt pad, I think I am good.

I have a 1” Burris scope I had on another bolt .223 that I run on it until I pick up a used SWFA.

Could maybe put a counter sunk screw through from inside the bolt to mount rather than thread the bolt material itself.

I may add a “gusset” or a bushing between the bolt knob and body of the BCG to help reduce the side load stress on the aluminum thread. It can be clamped between them.

Where did you guys drill the BCG?

There are "better" lightweight rifles with smoother actions but for the money, I couldn't be happier with my Savage LWH with handloads. It sits at 7#s on the nose with a 3-15x on top and 4 rounds in it and shoots sub-MOA out to 500 (so far).

I’m sure it has been covered before but what are you guys using for a lightweight strap/ sling ?

I have strap and buckles of various types if you all wanted something super simple sewn up.

A 1” strap wouldn’t be much weight with a side release buckle sewn in and triglides to put attachment point on.

If you’re going to go through the effort, here’s a nice option. I’ve used this on packs, climbing sticks, etc.

Can’t find it now, but there’s a 3/4” and 1/2” option available too.

As an alternative amsteel whoopie sling is a good option too
