I've just been using a thin red grease for a chainsaw sprocket, on pretty much all my rifles. Seems to work fine. I'd think a thin moly grease would probably be about the best.

Since they're not gassers, nothing really gets dirty from rounds, just from mucking around in the woods. If I see debris in the action, I'll pull it apart, wipe and re-grease, otherwise it's good to go for who knows how long.
I can’t tell you how many rounds I have down the rifle without cleaning or re-greasing it. It’s a few hundred for sure.

I put it my request for a 6x45 version of the portless barrel from Shaw. If anyone else would be interested in one here is a LINK. The squeaky wheel always gets the oil!

For those who have communicated with Shaw Barrels in the past... does anyone have good contact there? would they do "one off" custom AR15 barrels? I'd be looking for a portless 10 or 12 inch 223wylde just like their 16 inch ones... but I've never been able to get through when I've tried their number or email on their website.

You’d be wasting your money for this custom barrel. Buy a 1:8 20-inch A1 barrel and lop it off midway down the gas block journal. Thread it and you’re done. Voila! If you’d like less weight, have it turned down.

Want to buy myself for Christmas one of those neoprene sleeves for my Burris Microprism. Can’t seem to find the link in this thread now (looked through about 1/2 the thread 🤦🏻). Anybody have the Amazon link they could share with me?

Not sure if consensus or best, but I use a Lancer L5. 10-rounder.
Yeah, I imagine people are using all kinds of mags. Once the lug cuts in the extension are smoothed out (for 223 barrels, anyway), I think these -might- have less feed issues than a gasser in general. Things are moving at a very sedate pace compared to a gasser.

I use C-Products Duramags simply because they accept the longest OAL of any of the mags I've used.
