Ultra Light Weight Long Range Build

How are you liking that proof barrel? Obviously it is shooting well? I just ordered a Sendero Light in .284 for a lightweight .280ai build. As soon as I bought it I heard about issues with bore inconsistencies.

Also-- what paint job is on that stock?! I didn't think they could do the molded in finish on Edge fills.

The color on the stock is Cerakote that we did at the shop. You know this rifle was a test build for our shop and I like everybody was skeptical about PROOF because of there past. I can tell you that this barrel acts like all my Bartleins and Kreigers I have ever owned. We just ordered a couple hundred of them. My company is building these as we speak, PM for details as I can't advertise on this forum.

Don't let people bullshit you on Carbon barrels, they can shoot! Can they have a lemon, you bet but so can steel. Proof and Christensen Arms build great barrels.

Why doesn't your company come onboard as a sponsor so you can advertise? Seems to be a large customer base here for your company. I think you would find it a good investment as we like to support companies that support our favorite forum.

Talks are underway:)

Out of curiosity, you mentioned earlier you might try to make a titanium version of the brake. Did that happen? Would be interested to see how much weight that'd save you.

Been watching this thread closely, this is pretty much in line with what I'm looking at for my next rifle.

Ryan - Saw a post on Instagram, don't you have a similar build thread coming soon?

Any idea what the stock with the edge fill came in at? I am in a build and torn between the A3 and Scout with EDGE fill. thanks

The A3 with Edge Tech came in at 2.0 LBS, so its a little heavy for this type of build but I love the A3 and A5's so it works for me. McMillan came out with a Game Hunter, you will not see it on there website yet. It has a Monte Carlo type comb, a vertical grip like the Game Scout and can handle Sendero contour barrels. With Edge fill it will weigh around 26 OZ..
The reason why this will work better than the Game Scout is because you don't have to worry about not having a good cheek weld when running a 20 MOA base like you do with the Game Scout. Also it's lighter and for the back country hunters it is more sleek than the A3 and not so bulky.

Well awesome job on the color scheme and cerakote job!!! It looks exactly like a molded in finish! PM sent with some questions.

Make sure you apply anti-sieze thread protector compound on the threads of a titanium break!!!! Ti to stainless can be very sticky and if those threads get galled could cause you to have the break cut off the barrel and the barrel machined out of the break (same issue applies to Ti suppressors). Benefits are a shorter barrel, a new crown and less cash to weigh down your pockets :-)
