I am torn between the two, dead set on either a set of UHD's unless I find a good set of used Swaros under $2000. I haven't had an opportunity to sit behind either for very long. I use my binoculars a lot. A good mix of from the truck, off the tripod and off my hands. I hunt large AG parcels at home and go to Arizona and other western states to hunt deer/predators at least once per year. Any help or experiences appreciated

Buy the magnification that is best suited to your needs for the bulk of your hunting. For those instances where it falls outside your “norm”, either accept it for what it is or look at building an optics arsenal.

There’s no one size fits all for AZ and “western states”. Can have miles of open country on one hand and mere feet of visibility on the other. Would not be happy running my SLC 15s everywhere just like I would not be happy running my SLC 10s everywhere. I use what makes the most sense for where and what I am hunting.

All options involve a compromise. You and you alone have to figure out what matters most to you and your eyes.

First off, good call on the UHD's. I actually prefer them over Swarovski, the color palette is more true, whereas the Swaro seems to cast a green hue over everything to my eyes.

With that, the only person who can answer the question is you. Personally, I run 10x50's and you couldn't pry them from my hands. Brightness is off the charts, edge to edge is great, all the things. But the biggest thing for me how the fact that they're equally as useful handheld as they are from a tripod. I can one hand them while bowhunting, and they're plenty of magnification to get me out as far as I want to spot with binos on a tripod. A 12 is dimmer in low light, and gives a SMALL amount of magnification increase at the detriment to exit pupil and eyebox.

My dad runs the 12x50 UHD's and I run the 10x50's, so I've spent some time comparing them. I'm 1000% positive I've made the right choice.
