I don’t know Cam. He lives here in Oregon a few miles from me. He works for the local utility district and is close to retirement. I follow him on the ‘gram 😉. He works 9-5 and still finds time to work out and train like a man possesed. His work ethic is insane and I have nothing but respect for that. According to his Instagram feed UA offered him more money than his yearly salary to continue to represent the brand. He chose not to for reasons undisclosed. Who knows? I’d like to hunt some private land Elk.

Cam said "the UA renew contract was in front of him to sign but it was his decision not to sign"....so it's not like they dropped him...

After UA dropped sponsorship of that dude that filmed himself awesomely spearing a black bear, from the ground, with a cam on the actual spear too... because they were responding to social pressure from non-hunters, I made mental note to no longer buy their products, and we all should too. Only way to teach these bastards a lesson is to hurt the pocket book. Vote with your dollars!
What’s bad is they where not sponsoring him, just his wife. They previewed the release. I don’t care they broke up, that’s business. Them as a corp. defining ethical was an issue for me.

I said last year the hunting line with UA is dead, I’d say it’s almost gone. They only have 2-3 “athletes” left. They offer employee pricing through Epic outdoors, so physical retail side is dying. If the line remains it’s will be a small direct consumer line

Which is sad because they where starting to turn out some good pieces.

Fact they sponsored Cam for 17 years, says a lot about Cam. Meaning Cam walked a very fine line Social Media and hunting wise for a long time, with no hiccups. Pretty impressive track record in an industry that’s has a lot of hiccups

Cam Hanes and Jocko Willink are friends? Jocko and his clothing company Origin are working on a line of hunting clothes that will be USA made with 100% USA materials, maybe Cam goes to with Jocko and Origin
If I were to bet this would be it. I'm pretty sure Jocko told Rogan the hunting gear should be ready by next season.

Every single one of these social media outdoor industry parasites will eventually sell out sooner or later. Guarantee he'll be signed with another clothing brand by hunting season, proving that he's full of shit and what he said means nothing.

How do you feel about partaking in a shit show sheep hunt? Totally innocent question unrelated to any other thread taking place right now.

I have to admit, its interesting all the hate when it seems the guy chose to not renew on his own accord.

Nobody likes UA it seems, he turned down money, possibly on the principles of the company. Normally it's people getting dropped by sponsors for their actions, it's possible that Cam dropped them for their positions, who knows.

Likely it's because he has something better in the works, but a guy who is still working full time and isn't afraid to stand up for his positions on issues has my respect at least. I'm no big fan, but he has certainly worked hard to get where he us.

I doubt he really has issues finding sponsors at this point, just surprised nothing has been announced yet.

Well damn it! That doesn’t fit the narrative that UA dropped him for anti-hunting and political reasons, now does it? Everyone is a know-it-all, until the REAL TRUTH comes along.

Can you explain why? On its surface, it doesn't make any sense. Killing with a spear is very efficient. Hard to pull off, but when you do, very efficient. So very humane.
