I picked up a used carbon spyder, I am new to tuning my own bows. I leveled the arrow and nock point and than I shot it through paper, I had a terrible left tear. After I adjusted the rest to the right I was able to get it to shoot a bullet hole, however the rest is very close to the riser. I than went outside to sight it in and it is shooting right and if I move the sight over anymore it will be right on the riser as well..

Is there a way to put the rest back in the center and adjust for a left tear with the yoke system?? I called hoyt and they wouldn't tell me how because I am not a dealer or authorized bow tech. I am doing this to learn how to take care of my own stuff.

any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

Add twists to the left yoke and remove them from the right in even increments. For example, take 1/2 twist out of the right and add 1/2 to the left. Opposite for right tears. Do the opposite to each to keep cam timing the same (almost).

^^^ Also, you should be able to tune almost any left/right tears out using the yokes exclusively.

I think you overreacted by moving your rest right off the bat.

Get your rest close to center. Your pins on your sight should be inline with your arrow too.

Measure your axle and brace to spec. Drawboard your bow and set your string stop to hit together to cam and bottom cam equal. Some like a slight advance, but I’ve been getting better results completely synched.

While @ full draw on the draw board, check cam lean. Slowly release on draw board watching cam lean top and bottom.

Use your yokes to adjust left to right. Your cable and aimstring for brace and axle.

Whenever you twist a string ( cable or aim) you affect your top cam lean as well.
