I've pretty much decided on purchasing a Tangent Theta 315M but am somewhat unsure on reticle choice, and no places around me have any I can handle.
Primary consideration for the scope is excellent at hunting that I can use for target/range shooting when not hunting. For those that have experience with it, is the Gen3XR reticle in a 315 a struggle to use for hunting? Does the reticle become too difficult to see on the low end of magnification with tree/grass backgrounds?

Admittedly, I don't have extensive experience with different reticles in a hunting application so I'm struggling with a baseline comparison. For additional context, my hunting is in brushy south Texas, western Oklahoma, and maybe Colorado if I ever get drawn.

Alternative choice is the Gen2Mildot or possibly the 315LRH with LRH Mrad reticle. Both reticles of which seem to me to be better for hunting but worse for range use and shot corrections.

For reference, there are pics of several reticles on the following, one of which is Tangent Theta's Long Range Hunter Mrad. It is a very good hunting reticle. It's not "bad" for target but isn't the best fit for fine aiming. Thicker can be overcome with using a target set up to allow repeatable holds...everything is a trade off.

Thank you for that link - those images are very helpful. The comment about open reticles is part of my concern with the Gen3XR; I think the reticle is likely to be lost when there is lots of foliage in view. The LRH Mrad looks good and I expect the Gen2Mildot to be nearly the same.
