Trying to confirm seller’s account deleted

If you pay G&S you have the option to fund it with a CC and the fees are exactly the same. I don't care if G&S covers it or not, my CC company will be happy to. I can't remember the circumstances but about 9 months ago I did exactly that, filed a dispute with PP and it sat for a couple weeks and I got tired of waiting so did it with the CC. Next day CC refunded and said they're investigating, think like 2-3 days later PP closed my dispute stating it had already been refunded and that was the end of it.
They charge the sell the fees then

They receive less money.

I’ve had a bunch guys do it to me on here even though I specifically say f&f or they add the fees.

But they just got no shame in short changing others

Don't compete the transaction until it's satisfactory to your request.

Thats what the feedback section is for. Call those buyers out and if they dont pay the feed make sure to note it in feedback for others to see

You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I could probably have worded it better.

If you're gonna pay G&S anyway, there's no extra charge for using a CC to fund it instead of using a bank account. For that reason I don't care if PP will deny a firearms related claim, because my CC will always reverse fraudulent transactions anyway.

If you pay F&F and use a CC then yes they charge the normal G&S fee.

G&S the seller pays the 3.5 ether way
F&f the buyer pays if they want use a CC

You would have to refund them at that point.
Ok, so? If they aren't meeting the requirements you set forth, then you are at fault for accepting the terms they forced on you. No one else.

If I am in person with you and hand you $50 for something you said was $60 are you going to let me have it for $50? If so, let me know when your next yardsale is.

I agree with “don’t use F&F”, but why isn’t 2FA required to post on or access the classifieds? If not the entire forum…
Cause if we make that mandatory, all we would be doing is fixing 2FA problems for people. We waste WAY too much time helping people with the classifieds as is.

I can't emphasize this enough: I hate the classifieds; it's my biggest time suck.

That has not been my experience

But I’m seeing myself out of this conversation.

Thanks
I'm not trying to argue just trying to provide info, but I could be wrong so I want to explain what's in my head maybe somebody can correct me. Maybe they charge different fees for various things.

Buyer pays seller $10 G&S and adds 2.99% plus 50 cents to cover fees with bank account. Seller receives $10.
Buyer pays seller $10 G&S and adds 2.99% plus 50 cents to cover fees with credit cardt. Seller receives $10.
Buyer pays seller $10 via F&F and pulls from bank account with no fees. Seller receives $10.
Buyer pays seller $10 via F&F and pulls from CC and PayPal chargers buyer 2.99% plus 50 cents. Seller receives $10.

It's completely a wash since almost everybody paying G&S covers the fee, so same exact cost to the buyer.
edit: And of course the same exact received by the seller.

I've got this crazy idea where the seller just accounts for the 2-3% fee in the asking price...

Or they could just be upset that they got boned on $7. You know... whatever's easier.

He’s suggesting folks pay $10 via G&S and the seller gets <$10 due to fees the buyer didn’t cover even when the seller states the buyer needs to cover fees.

Frankly in that case just list the item for $10.80 accept G&S, and state the fee is already included. If someone doesn’t want to pay $10.8 then just move on with life.

Good info, I looked it up to verify. This was the one concept I wasn't understanding in the conversation, as I've never used it.

So, the general idea is send it F&F but pay the fee to use your card, and if the deal goes south just dispute and do a chargeback on the CC?

I think he was merely pointing out the fees are all the same (someone pays them) in all cases except bank account via F&F.

I don't think sending F&F via credit card and relying on bank charge back is best for the situation of trying to weed out scammers. Just send it G&S imho.
