I actually just sold the rifle last week. I probably put 80 or 90 rounds through it. It definitely preferred 130 gr loads and would shoot 3 and 4 shot groups of around an inch with Fiocchi 130gr Scirocco, HSM 130 TGK. It would do just over an inch with PSA Blade 140 gr. It wouldn't shoot anything from I had from Hornady, but I didn't have any of the ELDx to try. Most other factory loads that I had were similar to what you got, 2-3". That splinter forend isn't doing anything to help shoot it off the bench, it makes the lines of the rifle nice, but it's not practical for a good front rest.Did you ever set the Henry up and determine a cone? A friend had to have one and I set it up for him. Neither of us could get better than a 3” group of 5 shots. Henry replaced the barrel and same issue. Curious how yours has shot.
It was a pretty rifle and handled/cycled well. I actually debated getting the barrel bobbed off at 18" to make it handier, but in the end just decided to sell it because the wood was too pretty and I didn't want to be concerned with messing it up out in the field. I'd consider another one if they'd put a synthetic stock on it with a fuller forend, similar to what the 30/30 rifles have. My all weather 30/30 shot three 3/4" three shot groups on a row at 100 yards with Leverevolution 160's a few weeks back. That rifle rides the bags better than the Long Ranger did. It's a picky gun too, though. Most of the traditional 150/170 gr round nose factory loads are 2"+ for three shots, which for 30/30 ranges, gets it done.
