Heading to NM in about a week with a friend. We talked about staying in Truth or Consequences for a night on the way to where we're headed. We'd like to get some dinner and a possible drink or two while we're there. Any input regarding places to try (or avoid) would be appreciated. Thanks

La Cocina on the north side of town isn’t bad, not many options for food beyond fast food. Los Arcos Steak House used to be good too.

DO NOT stay at the motel 6, we just needed a place to take a quick shower on the way in and the room was like 95% humidity and the door had been kicked in so many times, none of the locks did anything, easily the worst hotel i've ever been to. I guess i was asking for it going to motel 6 but it was unbelievable. The holiday inn was completely booked on our way in and out.

Used to be called Hot Springs before 1950, so go for a soak.
Socorro might be a better stop. Main drag through town has a couple of brewpubs but the #7 green at the El Camino is (used to be anyway) classic NM.

appreciate the input. my hunting partner booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in T or C a while ago so at least I've got a decent place to stay. Just need to pull all the gear out of the truck and find some food then I guess.
