another vote for the Nikon monarchs from 5's to 7's, great value and great glass that can get it done with smiles...the smiles part is the elusive part in this optics game, the Nikon's can play

I have also been looking for the right binoculars for a long time, since I work as a tractor driver. In this case, the image is perceived as sharper and cleaner. This is especially useful when observing on the move, from a car or boat. But binoculars with IS, of course, are more expensive than regular ones.
