For those of you who have a topper for your truck, do you keep it on the truck year round, or just during hunting season?

I don’t have a topper, but wonder if it takes away from the practically of having a pickup and just easily tossing stuff into the bed. It seems great for camping or hunting when you have a bunch of gear or plan on sleeping in the back, but I’d be interested if it gets annoying to have on the bed when not doing those activities.

I used to have a tonneau cover on my F-150 and that was fine but a few years ago I got a softopper. I’m a big fan because it only takes a few minutes to unsnap it and fold it forward. I keep it up year round up here in AK. Also I can unsnap certain parts to get some airflow if the dogs are in the back.

I keep my topper on year round. Allows me to keep things secure and out of the elements. I couldn’t imagine not having a topper. If I haul anything to big/tall, I just use my trailer

I'm in the year round use category. A dozen years at least. I was leery of covering my bed but knew that motorcycles would be easier on a trailer. Mulch and dirt go on trailer also.
Basic stuff like lumber and drywall will be fine. Either tailgate up and window open (lumber)or window closed and tailgate down (drywall).

First thing I do with a truck is get a topper. Stays on till I get rid of the truck. But I’m a purpose driven fella.

Unless your loading things like wood or other stuff that you need to throw over side there’s no point in taking it off.

Unless it’s a pavement princess and you don’t think it looks pretty.

I use a hard folding cover that locks. What I put in the bed is easily accessible and protected from the weather. I've had a topper that I kept on year round and on very rare occasions I miss the extra space, but I sure don't miss the loss of visibility or the difficulty accessing items in the bed.

I have a softtopper. Love it. The black contrast well the stock silver paint so it still looks like a truck instead of a SUV. It easily folds to give extra space and its easy to remove by myself if needed.

I picked one of these up used on market place from a guy, and so far its been awesome. I really like the Extang covers due to their ease of installation and removal- one guy can perform either function in less than 10 minutes.
