Truck bed topper year round?

For those of you who have a topper for your truck, do you keep it on the truck year round, or just during hunting season?

I don’t have a topper, but wonder if it takes away from the practically of having a pickup and just easily tossing stuff into the bed. It seems great for camping or hunting when you have a bunch of gear or plan on sleeping in the back, but I’d be interested if it gets annoying to have on the bed when not doing those activities.

I used to have a tonneau cover on my F-150 and that was fine but a few years ago I got a softopper. I’m a big fan because it only takes a few minutes to unsnap it and fold it forward. I keep it up year round up here in AK. Also I can unsnap certain parts to get some airflow if the dogs are in the back.
