Trijicon TARS 3-15X50 I’m selling it...What’s this worth?

I’m trying to sell this scope for my dad (still confuses the words texting and email) but I am not sure what an appropriate price point is... any help here? MSRP says almost 4 grand but that’s a little outrageous isn’t it? It’s brand spankin new the box has been opened twice and that’s it. They don’t make it anymore but it’s top of the line heavy duty I guess. Thanks
