Trijicon, Nightforce, Maven, or ? For Durability

Background: Last year while on a hunt in the mountains I had my Leupold VX3HD aquire a wandering zero...Now I'm digging down the rabbit hole of durable scopes. I really like the idea of the Trijicon Accupoint ($550ish new), but am wondering if this is actually a good idea strictly based on the fact that I cannot find too many people who use them.

Use case: I would be mounting it on a Tikka T3x 6.5cm chopped to 18". Typical use case would be 50-400 yards (average is probably between 150-200 yards) shots on white tail and mulies in Western Montana. Possiblity of elk if I stumble upon something I can shoot and haven't filled that tag yet, but this is not the rifle I would take looking for elk.

Finally my question: Given the above, would a 3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint be reasonable and good enough for this usage or should I step up to either an Nightforce or Maven? I know if I were to do that I would need to double my budget, which I can do, but I don't want to spend that much on a scope if I don't need to.

Why do you feel the need for a variable power scope for 50-400 yards?

If that was my use case, the SWFA fixed 6 in MIL is the scope to buy here.

That is an option that I considered, I just liked that the accupoint was 7oz lighter. I also have been watching SWFA's sight for a couple of months and they have been sold out this whole time.

Accupoint is a great scope and should be plenty more durable than the Leupold. I really liked my 3-9 Credo as well but a little more weight.

Accupoints are spectacular scopes for the $. We've been using three 2.5-10x56 pretty hard for 5 years with zero problems with the scopes.

The Accupoint is a superb scope. It’s perfect as a set-it-and-forget-it scope. The glass is clear, it’s utterly reliable, and the illumination is nice when I need it. I absolutely love mine… but, I own six fixed power SWFA scopes (three 6x, one 10x, and two 12x).

I have been following the scope drop tests which is what prompted me to sign up for an account. It doesn’t look like all Maven scopes pass. Looks like nightforce and trijicon consistently do. I would look at the SHV 3-10 if you want something tough.

3x9 creedo is an option as well. But if you want to dial, find a used maven. It will likely be your best budget option.

That was kind of my hope, to use a 50/200y zero and then just know my holds out to 400. I also liked the idea of the mildot reticle with 100y zero, I would need to plug it all into strelok before determining which reticle I like best.

I think you will want a 100 yard zero and then know your holds.
