So I read two threads about drip tests on the Trijicon Huron 3-9x40. It looked like the two reports conflict results with Form's test showing a pass. I am considering the Huron 2-10x40 with the 30mm tube for an AR hunting scope. Can anyone confirm if they are the choice around 400.00?

Thank you

I sure hope so, my 2.5-10 will be here Wednesday. Where are you seeing them for $400?

I was dead set on getting a 3x12x40 Huron for my new 7mm rem mag Tikka Superlite, but the eye relief on Trijicons give me extreme pause. Its really unfortunate. Ive been looking at a 2.5x15x44 or 3x14x42 Tract Toric instead. 4 inches of eye relief on those.

I do like Huron, no complaints on eye relief. It’s little uncomfortable on max magnification only.

No issues with eye relief. My 10 year old has been using one on his rifle. Trijicon is conservative to say the least on their listed eye relief specs.

They’re GTG. Although I have drop tested mine, it has held zero perfectly with multiple revs on the turrets and over 120 miles on the worst roads you can imagine without riding in a gun case. It has seen roughly 103 rounds of 308 during these miles as well.

I put the 3-12 on a lightweight 30 nosler. I was worried about the eye relief, but it’s fine.

I also have a 2.5-10 Huron, and the eye relief is much larger than the advertised 2.4 inches at 10x. It is really easy to get behind and I don’t find myself having to adjust my cheek weld moving from lowest to highest magnification. Scope is crystal clear edge to edge and turrets are very positive with audible clicks.

Do you have an Ascent? I’ve been looking at these. Specifically the 3-12. Thanks.
No I have a Credo and two Hurons. I'd go back and get an Ascent though if I could. At the time I didn't realize they were all the same internally, I contacted Trijicon at some point to ask and they confirmed what I posted above.

Is the only difference the 2moa hash marks instead of the generic BDC hash marks on the Huron?

Couldn't tell you on that. When I talked to them I asked about the internals for drop test purposes for example. They told me they're all the same inside, difference was illumination for the Credo and finishes and reticle options. I think some are "target holds" which are regular intervals and some what they call "hunter holds" which are WAG's what the BDC lines up at. I really wish the Huron was matte rather than Satin, drives me nuts.

If anybody is wondering the BDC lines up fairly well on wife's 308 with plain cup and core stuff, but with Accubonds at altitude it's a little long (100 zero, 238 second hash, 355 3rd hash, etc).

Interesting. With a faster, higher BC round I wonder if you could get away with 200 on the main cross hair and the rest would fall more in line?
