Hello everyone, I'm looking to put a Trijicon Huron 3-12x40 with a 30mm tube on my Tikka 7mm Rem Mag for elk and Mule deer. I'm not much of an open turret guy, so, looking at this one. Has there BDC reticle so that will help at the distance. I'm going to limit myself 500 yards. I'm hearing the only downside of the Huron is the eye relief. Has anyone had issues with this particular model?

I had mine on an open muzzle 30-06 for about 40 to 50 rounds. Above 8x it was not ideal at all. Even with good form it felt like it was coming very close to my eye socket on every shot. After that I had it on a suppressed AR-15 223 for a while and that was completely fine.

I just mounted my new Trijicon Huron 3-12x40 on a 6 ARC this weekend.

I did not notice any real difference in eye relief vs my other scopes. Of course, I did not even consider recoil when I set it up b/c the 6 ARC isn’t going to scope me.

Hopefully, I’ll get that rifle sighted in soon. I really liked the simplicity of the reticle for where I hunt (under 400 yards).
