No story, waited about 75 minutes for the buck to stand up as I could only see the top six inches of his antlers. One of his does got up and stared right at me. She didn't know what I was, but she didn't like how I was sitting in the cactus. She starts to walk at me, gets to about 20 yards and circles around me like a coyote. This gets the buck up but no shot because he is looking my way now. The doe circles around and gets my wind and all seven bust out when she blows.

Almost turned into a deer drive. The ran a mile back at Travis and probably come within about 200 yards of him.

It took two hours to get 47 yards from the buck. Very disappointing after waiting another 75 or so not to get a shot.

Travis didn't flip a coin either. When I asked him how he was going to stalk the buck, he said he wasn't. He said since it was my last day to hunt, I shod make the stalk. Pretty nice gesture from someone I just met in person about two hours earlier.

It was a pleasure meeting Travis and thanks to Jim for sharing his hunting area with me.

You can't really see but Doug is in left of the green patch and buck is to the right.

Doug could've brought warmer weather though.

This was the first glassing spot.

We finally glassed up a decent buck mid day. It was the same buck I called Doug to talk me out of. He is a 3x5 or a 4x5. He has an online cheater between his g2 and g3 which is a crabclaw. We didn't know exactly where he was. He went into or near this deep nasty cut and could have either bedded there or worked that cut down. I went along the cut glassing and looking very very slow. He ended up being there and probably had an eye on me for 200 yards. He let me get 30 and I never saw him not by lack of glassing just never saw him through the brush. He popped out of his bed on the other side of the cut and went dead away and stopped with two big bushes in between him and myself. . I ranged a bush beside him. 58 yards. I thought he was going to take a step to the right where the bush was. I came to full draw and waited. He decided to go into the cut, I let down and tried cutting him off a few times without getting any closer. He finally had enough and high tailed it out of there.

We are getting closer though, stalking bucks now atleast coming to full draw!

Hey guys, I took the day off today. I've been hitting up sunup to sundown for two weeks. Needed to recharge my batteries. I took my wife and kids out to the desert so my wife can metal detect in some areas. We had fun, while she did I shot my bow and played with the kiddos. I also grabbed binos and tripod in one hand and my 1.t year old in the other and climbed up the hill to look into where the buck was yesterday. I was hoping to catch a javelina about but no such luck. I did have to hold my son the whole time so I can't say I looked for a long time.
