Moving my Dall sheep a couple states over and covering my bases before embarking on the task. Will be in an enclosed trailer. Wondering if folks had any tricks like mounting them to the wall or something. As of now, I’m going to use padding wrap around him and lay the mount on top of the couch that will be in there. Supporting it with duffel bags of clothing, towels, etc.
Trying to avoid building a box for right now.

I’ve had a ton of stuff come in big, enclosed trailers and also 18-wheelers (Trophy Transport) all the way across the country on 2-3 week trips. They all are packed like you’re saying with padding wrap and foam in between. I think it’ll be just fine like you mentioned above.

If the trailer had a wood floor then I would make a simple stand out of 2x4’s to secure the legs to and then screw the stand to floor. You can also go the way you are thinking and just make sure it can’t move or nothing can fall on it. I hauled mounts around for competitions all the time and ship them out to customers. I usually built a stand to secure the mount to.
