Original frame or was it replaced prior? That should fall within the frame warranty from the class action.2009.
Might be worth looking into. I thought they were covered for 15 years from the date of use but I could be wrong. I would be getting on it though, your going to be cutting it close.Bought it used. It either came with (or I received shortly after, I can’t remember) a letter stating that it had been inspected and was warranted for another 2(?) years after I bought it.
That expired long ago.
I don’t believe Toyota will do anything else beyond that regardless of condition. I think.

Bummer but thanks for the update.Just called Toyota (why not) and they said it was inspected in 2018 and deemed serviceable.
The replacement program is no longer going on.
Thanks for shopping with Toyota.
Hi everyone, I am a dull Narcissist, nice to meet you!I, and I alone, am responsible for the frame rot recall and the leaf spring recall issued covering hundreds of thousands of vehicles sold in North America by Toyota.
That makes me kind of a deity.
One squeaky wheel on Rokslide that affected one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world and one of the most popular vehicles on the road.
Impressed now?
Salt. And they’re actually towns that use brine on the roads. It’s bad, bad, bad.Wow, that frame issue sucsk! Sorry you're going through that. It would be interesting if possible to find out the cause? Northern states, salt on road? Truck backed into salt water? Either way, I feel for you.
Man, its a nice sunny day here today, I'm going to have a look under my 3rd Gen.Salt. And they’re actually towns that use brine on the roads. It’s bad, bad, bad.
On a lighter note, the parts department at the Toyota dealer said they could get a frame.
$3900 prepaid and a 16-18 week wait.
It was caused by a few things if I remember correctly.Wow, that frame issue sucsk! Sorry you're going through that. It would be interesting if possible to find out the cause? Northern states, salt on road? Truck backed into salt water? Either way, I feel for you.
4. BLJ didn’t ever wash his truck. It was caused by a few things if I remember correctly.
1. The frame manufactured didnt use the proper steel.
2. The rust coating wasnt up to spec
3. The old frames had spots that allowed moisture to get into the frame.
Sounds like the way I treat my pickups. Had an 01 tundra for 12 years. It got cleaned twice. Once when I first bought it and once when I took my now wife on the first date.4. BLJ didn’t ever wash his truck.
I can’t blame it all on Toyota.
Yeah... but then you'd be driving a Nissan. One major disadvantage for Tacomas is that they have dumbest seating position ever.
Nothing like feeling like you are sitting on the floor with your legs straight out in front on a nice multi-hour drive.
That and everyone thinks their 15 year old Tacoma with a quarter million miles is worth 20k
You could get a lot more bang for the buck in a Frontier. (Post 2010 to avoid the SMOD radiator issue) Or just change the radiator on an older one.
That and everyone thinks their 15 year old Tacoma with a quarter million miles is worth 20k
There are less and less true full size (less than 50") sxs trails every year. There are still a few that I'm able to use my Pioneer on, but the FS is whittling them down. Pretty dang hard to beat a small 4x4 truck, even if it's a Nissan. My uncle just went to a Toyota Tacoma. I think his is a 2015 single cab. He still has his used car dealer license even though he shut down the lot. Bought it from another dealer at crazy cheap. Still has four wheelers and a side by side for his 10 acres. Still has a ton of horses when he wants to do that.
You can do a hell of a lot of work with one, and drive it home at the end of the day.
Side by side is better for true mountain trails, but most good trails are closed by the BLM or Forest Service.
If don't have a ton of property you are working on at home you don't need a Side By Side.
Dad still has his side by side and a Polaris four wheeler. He doesn't take them anywhere and only uses him on his 10 acres. He is 84.
