Total Archery Challenge 2025

What are some ways I can add some range to my setup? I know lowering arrow weight would help, but are there any sights, or style of sights that typically increase available range on a setup?
Lower your anchor and raise your peep.

pull your sight in as tight to the bow as you can. Raise your peep a bit. Get a smaller scope housing,

That makes sense. Sounds like a slider sight with a small housing that is close to the riser, and raising my peep height is what I should be looking for.

How low are you guys typically taking your anchor point? I usually have my jawline between my pointer and middle finger. I worry that if I raise my peep and get a slider sight that both of those will cause my anchor point to fall down off my jawline. Anybody have a typical rule of thumb for how low the anchor point can go/ how high the peep can go?

My anchor point never changes. Set your peep just a touch higher, not astronmically so. That said, I just do what is comfortable, and have never made an effort to raise my peep on purpose. FWIW, I shoot a Mathews Lift X 33, Axcel landslyde with the smaller Ultraview scope, 378 grain arrows at 300 fps and I can get 130+ with my top pin. I have a relatively short draw at 28" and don't have any real problems. I don't even have my 2nd pin yardage set at this point.

Did my first last year in CO. Overall I've had better experiences at my local 3d range but the shots were tough at TAC. I'd bring a dozen depending on how many courses you're doing.

First time being at Terry Peak SD TAC. So much fun and a good sized event in my opinion! I shot the Prime course on Friday and that was a tough hike, shots weren't too bad; 116 yard poke out to a moose, 94 yard shot on a buffalo and the 36 yard classic cliff shot were some highlights! Saturday I did the Jack Links course and that was an easier hike and fun shots in tight quarters like the antelope at 36 yards framed by multiple little trees. Met so many cool people as a solo shooter just joining groups on the courses. I'll definitely be back next year!
Had a friend talk me into Colorado TAC in a few weeks so I'll be gearing up for that!
