Yes you can get the google earth overlay through HuntingGPSMaps.com

Actually, I believe that product shows the land boundary data on google earth (for scouting purposes from home). For seeing satellite imagery on your gps device you'll need Garmin's Birdseye subscription as BB said.

what about with gloves on?

and i know when its snowing and sub 15 degrees i dont want to mess with a touch screen

I couldn't agree more. I hate this about my iPhone. However, I've found that my 450T works great with the thinner gloves on. It's not really the same touchscreen as the iPhone that most people would expect.

I used to have an eTrex Vista HCx and it worked great, but the 450T allowed me to add satellite imagery. For someone from the midwest who does a lot of scouting via computer and satellite having that feature on the GPS is fantastic.

Just so you are aware, the new etrex 20 & 30 does everything the 450T does but at half the cost. Check them out and compare, I think Garmin dropped the ball by keeping the Etrex namesake or not marketing it better because it automaticly makes people think it is very basic when the new version does more then almost everything else they have now at half the cost, only thing it is missing is a large touch screen.

It could be argued that Etrex series isn't really 'missing' anything by NOT having a touch screen. I don't have any experience with the Garmin touch's or know how they are built, but I've had a few problems with my Trimble data collector touch screens at work. From what I've been told by the tech's when I have to send the units back for service, the screens have a contact area around the screen perimeter, under the exterior casing, that has trouble when dirt or grit works its way into the unit. In most of my cases, things were fine until I used the unit in the rain, which washed the grit into the contact area and 'shorted out' the touch screen. Basically the touch feature of the touch screen stops working.

Like I said, I dont have any experience with the Garmin touches, but I'm leary of them based on my experience so far. Hopefully Garmin has a better system and they do not have the same problems as I've encountered with similar equipment. It would be nice if they perfect things as I'm a big fan of that type of interface.
