Top 5 Food bars while backpacking

David bars for when I want the max protein per calorie and still have it taste good.

Built puff or Magic Spoon bars if I want a desert type bar that still has reasonable macros.

Gatorade recovery bar for backup food (meal replacement).

I just bought some of the Bobo pb&j bars from Walgreens to try. They had the 4 packs for $2.99. I bought 5 boxes, hoping I like them as much as some of you folks

For those who tolerate stevia as a sweetener, IQ bars are high in protein and tasty to me. Only 1 gram of sugar per bar. The chocolate ones taste like a brownie.

Downside is they re a bit more expensive unless they are purchased at Costco.
