Tool kit and possibles gear for truck during hunting season

This might sound off the wall, but one of the most valuable truck gear items over the years has been a parachute. I bought a surplus one probably 10 years ago... and I have used it for:

  • A shooting rest when sighting in/practicing
  • A backrest
  • A blanket/sleeping bag
  • A place to lie under the truck in snow/mud
  • A shade
  • A ground tarp for my tent when we're camped on gravel
  • A rain tarp
  • A wind break
  • Insulation for water jugs in the cold
  • Insulation for coolers in the heat
  • A drop cloth at job sites
It came with legit "para cord" attached... and I have been lopping off sections of that for many uses over the years.

Emergency valve stems.

I thought they were silly till I saw them in action. Buddy ripped his valve stem off when he slipped off the road into a muddy rut. He was back up and going quickly drive around on it for a couple weeks until he got it fixed.

Something I keep in addition to the tools, overnight gear, and recovery gear listed in the previous posts...

A pouch containing several pints of good alcohol, a few cans of chew, and a few packs of smokes.

I always like to have something on hand to offer when someone helps me out of a jam, or an assist in the field. And there is usually something in the pouch they appreciate while out in the sticks....

Truck always has a first aid kit, water bottles, water filter, snacks, shovel, traction boards, tools, 12v air compressor, tire plug kit, and battery jump pack.
