F150 5.0 Tremor, this coming a the original owner of an ‘11 scab raptor with 148k miles. Repairs are an air conditioner line, window motor, transfer case actuator motor, 2 sets of front brakes, one rear and on its third set of tires. Had the shocks rebuilt at 110k after a goat hunt in southern NM. My son drives a ‘21 Raptor he bought new with no repairs today. Also in the family are 2 Wild Track broncos and a F250 7.3gas. Recently drove a 2025 2.7 F150 for a week on snow in interior Alaska.
The suspension electronics on the current Raptors compared with the Tremor and the non turbo motor in the Tremor are the main points for me. Simple. I will say the rental F1504wd did not give me the seat of the pants feel driving on slick surfaces that the bronco and raptor does. The F250 7.3 with 4.30s approximate the performance of the raptor but the handling differences tightens the sphincters when you are on slick mud and snow. Ground clearance between the raptor and tremor on the lot looks about the same. You see a lot of raptors in the oil patch of Texas and NM used hard and they hold up. The filthiest, most trashed Raptors I’ve ever seen were in Carlsbad NM driven by oilfield guys.
