Killed my impala at 76yds with one. They definitely get the job done.

Lots of other great broadheads out there to choose from.... if you're sticking with a mechanical I'd recommend Sevr or Evolution Hyde

Sort of- technically convicted for not knowing what the outfitter was doing.

Sevr seems to be a proven head with a good track record. Based on the four animals I have shot with it and the research I did, I wouldn’t try another head if they were given to me for free.

Find the affidavit and read it and you’ll quickly see they didn’t kind of not know what the outfitter was doing
I did, you have to look in the mirror some when ever you hunt with any outfitter.

You shoot a none legal sheep with an outfitters it’s still on you.

Although Baited duck hole is a little different, still if by the third volley the same ducks keep circling back wanting in that hole, only two things are possible every where else is frozen or that holes baited.

I'm partial to cut-on-contact broadheads. 11 bulls, 3 cows with bow, never lost one, all down within 100 yards. Killed those elk with Slick Trick, G5 Montec. Last 8 elk taken with my favorite Iron Will Solid-S broadheads.

However, for 2025, 2 SEVR 1.75 new Hybrids, w/new bleeder blades. Quiver has 3 IWill and 2 new SEVR*.
*Specifically for possible longer follow up shot on a bull.
Had good results on muley bucks @ 60-70 yards with SEVR.
But deer hide is not as thick, nor hair as tough on a mature bull elk's hide.

I think if you close yours eyes to the drama revolving around the bowmars, the beast seems to be a pretty good design. I still would lean towards a fixed head for elk. Confidence in your equipment goes a long way.

I shot 3 deer last year (2 with the same G5 megameat head) they are lethal for sure but I get mixed reviews if asked if it will work on an elk. I am confident between 40-50 for an ethical shot.
I use the G5 Deadmeat on deer and they work good. If you hit much bone the blades get damaged.

Just get the Sevr 1.5 hybrids.
How important do you think the bleeders are? Thinking about elk specifically? I have 100 gr sevr 1.5s and 1.75s, and I'm trying to decide whether to hunt with them this year, or whether to relegate them all to practice duty, and then buy 1.5 hybrids to hunt with. They're $20 each, so it would cost me $120 to fill my 6 arrow quiver.
