Howdy y’all,
I have a 2nd rifle tag in Colorado (Oct 28 - Nov 5). This will be my first time hunting 2nd rifle in CO. The unit ranges from national forest at 12k ft all the way down to BLM at 7k feet. I’ve never deer hunted during this time of year and really have no idea what to expect. So far, I’ve just been putting escouting points on OnX where I can glass into lower BLM pockets and into higher up drainages. Will the deer simply be where you find them (as the saying goes) or by late October have they started to drop elevation at all? So far my plan has been to glass timber edges all day and hope something pops out. And tips or tricks for hunting deer this time of year would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks y’all!
